Hi all,

I've got a weird problem here that i can't seem to solve. When I'm playing GW my computer screen will switch itself onto standby. Now ive read problems of the computer resetting itself completely but this is different. It only seems to be the screen that switches off. I dont think im still logged in to the game but my computer is still running. The only way I can fix the problem is to restart the computer myself. It is REALLY annoying, especially when ive been logged on for a whole 30 seconds and it does it. It seems completely random. Like ive said, sometimes it'll happen in a matter of seconds or minutes other times it will be 30mins or maybe an hour or two.

My computer specs meet the recomended requirements (theyre actually better in some cases) and is in a good condition. (If you still want the specs just to look yourself just ask and i'll happily post them for you).

Anyway, ive emailed the support people and they gave me a load of programs to download. Im not very technically minded so im not exactly sure what they do but again, if you think knowing what those programs are will help ill post them. Even after this it didnt solve the problem. I've even got my dad to help, him being some sort of cheif IT engineer, and he couldnt figure it out.

By all account there should be no problems but it still seems to happen. If there is anyone out there thats having the same problem as me please get in touch and if you or someone else has managed to fix the problem PLEASE tell me how to fix it!!! Its driving me crazy!!!!

You mean the power saver function, standby mode?

Couple of ideas...

-A Keyboard key...that you might be hitting inadvertently while playing causing this to happen. (solution: disable that key setting or disable standby more)

-A setting (or possible bug) in the power saver setup that "thinks" your PC is idle, you maybe able to change this by using a different setting or just disable it in your Power Schemes in Control Panel.

My 2 cents...

Just look at Power Options in Windows Control Panel, see how stuff is setup.

Also, some Video cards may have a "sleeper" option but I think you are talking about your PC going to standby and not the Monitor/Video Card...
